Santee, Calif. — A Santee Pastor who had been found guilty of selling hundreds of pounds of pot has been pardoned by President George Bush.
In what certainly seems baffling to Marijuana Advocates everywhere, President Bush has pardoned a SoCal Pastor for his 1996 conviction for selling/dealing marijuana. Anthony Foglio Jr. an associate pastor at the Sonrise Community Church received his pardon this week. Anthony was quoted as saying “It’s God’s mercy. It’s an undeserved gift.”
Foglio wasn’t a pastor when he sold hundreds of pounds of the drug. Apparently if you find god … George Bush thinks you deserve forgiveness …

In a thinly veiled attempt to adopt an American policy towards drug control Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his “Conservative” government are leading Canada, yet again in a direction it would rather not go.
Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper is calling for a cultural shift with Bill C-26, to be enforced by what his political opponents are calling an American-style war on drugs. He has introduced legislation that would set mandatory minimum jail sentences for marijuana growers and traffickers, and he is seeking more money for enforcement and prosecution.

A destructive piece of legislation, says local MP Keith Martin
Protesters are set to gather Monday, December 17, at MP offices in Victoria and across Canada to speak out against proposed drug laws they say are draconian and ineffective. The Conservatives’ Bill C-26 would entrench the criminalization of cannabis and require minimum mandatory prison terms for people caught with pot.
Protest organizer Ted Smith of Victoria’s Cannabis Buyer’s Club says the laws would needlessly clog up already over-burdened courts and jails, and that organized crime would only profit from prohibition. The Conservatives are driven by an ideological agenda that is disconnected from most Canadians, he says.
